FICTION

Picture

While I have been scriptwriting and telling stories for more than two decades, I am relatively new to the medium of prose. Like poetry, writing fiction makes me agonize over every word choice, weigh every possible approach. When I write script dialogue between characters, I know at once if I'm going in the right direction; writing prose feels more like navigating tone, perspective, and imagery one block (or sentence) at a time. Fortunately, the journey is often a rewarding one.

CRIME STORIES (Untitled collection)

I am adding short stories to a crime-themed collection that I hope to publish in late 2021. While the texts are not available on this site, these are the stories I plan to include:

  • "Welcome to Rainswater"
  • "Marks"
  • "The Widow Cleans House" - published in Alfred Hitchcock's Mystery Magazine, July/Aug. 2016
  • "Death and the Dot-Com"
  • "Seven Confessions"
  • "Angela"
  • "Bases Looted" - published in Noir at the Salad Bar, Level Best Books, 2017
  • "Murder, Orchestrated"
  • "Nicky and the Darkness"
  • "Tethered Goat to a Tiger Hunt"
  • "Psychic Disturbance"
  • "Two Houses, One Burned"
  • "The Last Ferry" - published in Landfall: The Best New England Crime Stories, Level Best Books, 2018
with more coming soon.
