Inspired by recent events, SUNDIAL explores the relationship and responsibility between corporation and community. This play's goal is to encourage discussion of the challenges facing both citizens and the coal companies as mountain-top removal mining continues in rural Appalachia. Synopsis: A West Virginia elementary schoolteacher pushes to change the policies of the coal company that is affecting her town. But her position is complicated: neighbors, friends, and even her family work for – and benefit from – the coal business.
