Finders
A one-hour television pilot script. I always love tackling new story challenges -- they appeal to the puzzle-solver in me -- and Finders gave me the chance not only to work with an alternate reality sci-fi premise but also to launch a story whose mythology could sustain a series. If I'm ambitious enough, I would love to turn this idea into six sequential novels as the protagonists try to track down the remaining young people whom The Service has imprisoned within its bureaucracy.
Synopsis: In a fractured future where the few surviving teens in the world are seen as as commodity, 16-year old Sky searches for the aunt who raised her while a government program called The Service tries to track her down. Working with Daniel, another teen, they try to stay one step ahead of the agents, and in the process redefine what a family can be.
