The Ballad of Faith Divine

While living in Portland, Maine, I wrote and directed a comedy feature film, The Ballad of Faith Divine. This was a great collaboration with Derek J. Kimball of Last House Productions.

Faith Divine (Katherine Pryor) just wants a little respect. David Manners (Jared Reise) just wants to live. And Faith and David's psychiatrist, Dr. Eric Morgan (Richard Herman), just wants to win a big award for psychiatric excellence and show everyone at the consortium that he's the best. After a few failed attempts at helping Faith and David individually, Dr. Morgan decides to try something new, something innovative, something worthy of an award and the envy of fellow psychiatrists everywhere. At first, the new technique--part musical therapy, part assertiveness training--works very well.

And then things start to get screwy.

What happens next includes (but is not limited to) garden gnomes, tennis courts, tranquilizer guns, ankle bracelets, the Department of Motor Vehicles, social theatre, and a dog named Murray. Somehow, all the elements combine to create the totally unique melody line of Jason Half's comedy feature, The Ballad of Faith Divine.
